Steam Park Board Game Review

I love theme parks!

Whenever I can, I’ll jump at the chance to ride cool roller coasters. I love taking advantage of extra time after business trips to head off to a close amusement park to get those thrills in.

Many years ago, a cool computer game was released called Roller Coaster Tycoon. In the game players build their own theme park complete with roller coasters, food stands, and other amusements to attract customers and earn money. It was a quick purchase for us. After all, who wouldn’t want to put their unique spin on a theme park?

From all the stories we’ve read and movies we’ve watched, there’s a lot to being a good pirate. Navigating to vast oceans, conquering other ships, keeping your crew in line, and finding treasure to name a few.

And if you turn out to not be a very good pirate, the captain might make you walk the plank.

Yep, that’s what’s about to happen in this silly board game, Walk The Plank.

I don’t know what you imagine when you first hear of a game named BraveRats, but we didn’t really know what to think.

BraveRats is actually a very quick 2-player card game duel. It’s based on …. And really could be themed in a variety of ways. For this version the game publisher, Blue Orange, has chosen a theme of two rival rat clans. (We always knew rats were up to something sinister.)

As we dive into a new year, I love to look back over the board games, card games, and party games I’ve played during the past year.

Thanks to BoardGameGeek.com as well as the cool app for it, it’s so simple to record which board games I play. After playing a game, I’ll simply click on “Record a Play” and boom, it’s done. Then I can easily pull reports of all sorts to review the games I’ve played.

Having played a ton of different board games and card games, we can attest to the fact that not all board games are created equal. Some games are so compelling they’re hard to stop playing. Other games can’t end soon enough.
