Board Games to Leave Up

Where do your board games spend most of their time?

Your answer is probably: “on a game shelf” or “in the closet”.

Most board games are found resting on game shelves and in closets. That’s where they go to sleep off the exertion from being played.

And that’s okay.

It’s best to keep most games stored away in their boxes. As much as they love to be played, at the end of the day, they like to keep their own little family (components) safely tucked in.

But that doesn’t mean EVERY game needs to be put away at the end of play.

We recently stumbled across a list of best board games at Ranker.com. This website provides a way for people to create lists and have others vote on the items on the list. Items will move up or down the list depending on the votes.

At the time we saw the list, there had been 7,000 people cast their votes. These were the top 76 board games of all time according to the voters.

Dotzee – the biggest dice we have

We’ve played some big board games before – games with a ton of components that sprawl across every inch of a large table. But we’ve never played a game with such huge dice!

While a game with only 16 dice may not sound like much, the size of these dice draws attention. Each chunky die is a 1 ¼ inch cube and has nice brightly colored pips. The game also comes with a game board to hold the dice in a 4×4 grid for play.

But do the high quality components deliver a high quality game?

The first headline that caught my eye on the front page of the Entertainment section was “We are living in a board game renaissance“. Which got a hearty “You bet!” from me.
