2018 – Year in Review

Happy New Year!

We’re not sure if 2018 flew by for you, but it sure seemed like it did for us. We passed a number of milestones as a family this year. And we ended 2018 with a bang by taking a family vacation over Christmas and into the New Year. It’s so great to all be together again.

The hot new movie out this week is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. That’s why we’re excited about reviewing a hot new family board game this week — Fantastic Beasts: Perilous Pursuit!

In Fantastic Beasts: Perilous Pursuit players work together to capture 5 beasts by rolling special dice. However, if 2 beasts get away or one player loses all their Health, they all lose.

It’s hard being Robinson Crusoe

Life sure isn’t easy on a deserted island. In fact, most of the time it can downright stink. But that isn’t to say there aren’t pleasures to be found.

Such is the case with the Robinson Crusoe 2nd edition board game from Portal Games.

In Hellapagos, you and your fellow castaways are shipwrecked on an island with an approaching hurricane in the distance. You must work together to have any hope of getting off the island before the hurricane strikes.

Or at least some of you may make it off the island alive…

Hellapagos is a semi-cooperative board game for up to 12 players that’s super challenging to all win together. But you have to try. Because if you don’t work together, no one will survive. By working together, there’s at least a chance you can make it.
