Escape Rooms come to Puzzles!

We’ve reviewed a bunch of Escape Room type board games and even included a number of them in our 2019 Board Game Gift Guide.

The Deckscape series of escape room card games is published by dV Giochi in Italy.

The Deckscape games are cooperative, story-driven games where players work together to solve a mystery or get out of a tough situation. As the name implies, the game is a deck of cards that players work through.

The Game Canopy Deep Space game bag review

One of our favorite game accessories (if you could call it an accessory) is our Game Canopy game bag.

Any time we want to take some games with us — whether on vacation, or to grandma’s house, or to a game convention, or over to a buddy’s house for game night — we fill our Game Canopy with games and we’re on our way!

While the Game Canopy can fit a bunch of games, not all game boxes are created equal. And unfortunately, this means some of the games we may like to take for a game night away just won’t fit in the Game Canopy.

Go on Safari in Serengeti

One of the things near the top of my Bucket List is to go on an African safari.

As long as I can remember, I’ve loved observing wild animals. And living in the Western U.S., one of my favorite places to visit is Yellowstone National Park because of all the wildlife.

So when I heard about a new game hitting Kickstarter this week that revolves around African safari animals, Serengeti, my interest was piqued. And if that weren’t enough, it’s also a cooperative board game – where you work together and either win or lose as a team.

Record numbers at SaltCon 2019!

Another super fun weekend of board gaming at SaltCon is in the books!

I look forward to SaltCon with high anticipation every year and it never disappoints.

And that’s exactly how I’m feeling again looking back on last weekend of fun board gaming with friends and strangers.

SaltCon is our local board game convention that rolls around the first weekend of March. And like the previous years, it continues to hit record numbers.

For SaltCon 2019, more than 1,900 people came for the fun!

Dead Men Tell No Tales: Kraken expansion review

You’ve vanquished the skeleton crew, you’ve grabbed the loot, you’ve kept the deckhands in check, and you’re about to escape the burning ship to enjoy your spoils when it happens.

The ship starts to shake. The floorboards start to rumble. Then all of a sudden, tentacles start bursting through the boards all over the ship.

You and your fellow pirates stumble away from them the best you can when you notice the Kraken surface just off the bow of the ship and block your exit!
