Top 100 Board Games – Popular vote
If our recent Top X Board Games and Card Games lists by each member of our family didn’t give you enough ideas for board games for your family and friends, how would a Top 100 Board Games list be?
Would that be overload?
Well, with thousands of board games, card games, dice game, and party games to choose from, a list of 100 great games can come in handy.
Every year, The Dice Tower posts their Top 100 Board Games list. But not only do they post their list, but they also make videos talking about all these games. They break the list into segments of 10 games for the videos so it’s a little more digestible. Each video averages about 15 minutes so the host, Tom Vasel, provides a great overview of each game and why it’s so great.
Keep in mind that Tom Vasel has played thousands of games (he attests to having played over 3,000 games!) and is the most prolific board game reviewer in the industry. So he knows what he’s talking about. Of course, even with that said, his opinion is just his opinion and his tastes are his own. So you may or may not agree with his taste in games. But more often than not, we think he gets it right.
He’s posted a Top 100 Board Games list for 8 years running! Of course it continues to changes because he takes into account the hundreds of new board games that are published every year. It’s great to see the newer games that get added to the list as well as those that continue to stand the test of time.
But that’s not all…
In addition to his list, his daughter Melody posts her list of Top 100 Board Games which is great for families to see what their kids might enjoy. Having posted her list for 4 years, it’s also great to see how Melody’s list has changed as she’s grown.
But that’s not all either…
This is the second year The Dice Tower has taken submissions and votes from board game enthusiasts around the world and have posted the People’s Choice Top 100 Board Games.

People’s Choice Top 10 Board Games

Of all the games on the People’s Choice Top 10 Board Games, the only ones we haven’t played are Agricola and Race for the Galaxy. But as you’ll see from the lists we’ve posted over the years (Board Game Gift Guides, Must Have Family Board Games, Must Have Family Card Games, etc.), we concur that these People’s Choice games are simply great games! And it’s hard to go wrong buying any of these games for your family.
Just remember though, that with thousands of games played, just because a game doesn’t make the list doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. There are still hundreds of great board games to be played.
