Big Box Stores Now Have Great Board Games
A couple years ago I wrote about how cool it was to see modern board games hit big box store shelves like Target, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble. Well, that trend has only grown since that time. Now many popular modern board games can be found in your local retail store.
It used to be that only games by big game companies like Mattel and Hasbro could be found on those store shelves. Games like Monopoly, Sorry, Life, Chess, Pictionary, and Trivial Pursuit dominated the game aisle.
But now some of the best board games around can easily be found in your local retail big box stores.
And if you’re in the US and venturing out this weekend for great post-Thanksgiving Day sales at Target or Walmart, it’s likely that you’ll be able to find some great deals on fantastic family board games like:
Or if you’ve got a Barnes & Noble near by, you’re even in more luck because they carry even more options like:
- Wits & Wagers Family Edition
- Flash Point: Fire Rescue
- Agricola
- Battlestar Galactica
- Dungeons & Dragons Castle Ravenloft
- Civilization the Board Game
And of course, if you’ve got a local hobby board game store near you, you’ll have an even bigger selection.
We love to see the growth of the modern board game world expanding so much! Families all over have so many options when it comes to playing games together. We hope you find a great new board game or two your family will enjoy together for years to come!
