Board Game Year in Review & Primer
This time of year, the number of visitors to our website skyrockets. We know it’s because so many people are looking for fun family board games and card games for Christmas presents.
Board games are fantastic gifts to give for Christmas. Not only do kids love games to play during their holiday break, but adults also love playing games when they get together with family and friends.
If this is the first time you’ve visited our website, consider this a Family Board Game Primer.
Welcome! And we hope you enjoy checking out our video and written reviews for games that are a fit for you and your family.
And for those that are return visitors but may have missed a few things, here are a few tips on great things to check out.
With that in mind, here are a few starters on where to look:
First, take a look at our Find a Game table. It’s a list of the close to 200 board games and card games that we’ve reviewed over the past 4 years. You can sort the list by Number of Players, Age, Game Length, or our average family Rating to find just what you’re looking for.
You can also take a look at the list sorted by the ratings according to each family member. So if you’re looking for a game that younger kids might enjoy, sort the list by Caleb or Brooke to see the games they’ve rated the highest.
Second, see what our Favorite Board Games are by family member:
- Top 10 Best Board Games – Caleb
- Top 10 Best Board Games – Brooke
- Top 11 Best Board Games – Jaden
- Top 8 Best Board Games – Trevor
- Top 12 Best Board Games – Mom (one of the most popular posts on our site)
- Top 14 Best Board Games – Dad
Third, see what we consider the Top 10 Must-Have Family Board Games and Top 10 Must-Have Family Card Games. If you’ve never played some of these games, then this is the year to play them!
Fourth, here are some of our favorite board games we played this year. Our Top X Best Board Games lists were made a year ago and we’ve played some great games since then. Our Must-Have Board Games and Card Games were written 3 years ago and there are definitely some games since then that we’d add to the list.
So if you’re looking for a new game, check out our favorite games we reviewed in 2013.
