John Lasseter (Pixar) loves to play board games!
We all know that John Lasseter is a great big kid. He has to be a giant kid to keep Pixar knocking every animated movie out of the ball park. But did you also know the he loves family board games?
John Lasseter was featured in Parade Magazine this week in their “Sunday with…” section. In it he talks about Toy Story 3, Cars 2, the Oscars (which Toy Story 3 won for Best Animated Feature by the way), and…board games!
We feel in love with Pixar when Toy Story first hit the big screen and have been fans every since. Since 1986, John has overseen the Pixar films and we’d like tip our big 10-gallon hat to him. In fact we watched Toy Story 3 again the other night for our family night activity and once again laughed and cried along with it.
So we were very excited to read that John loves to play board games with his family! In the Sunday edition of Parade, they asked if Sundays give him a chance to slow down. And here is some of his response, “Amen! Sunday, for me, is all about being home with the family with no plans…And for the rest of the day, it’s just staying away from TV and video games, doing something outside if the weather’s good. We are also huge boardgame fanatics, because they bring the family together.”

We’d like to add our hearty “Amen” to that. And we’d encourage everyone to do the same.
In fact, we challenge you next Sunday afternoon to just kick back and play some board games with your family.
Happy gaming!
