Trapped in a Quoridor?

Quoridor board game
Fun family game battle.

Don’t you hate it when your best plans are thwarted?
Then your opponents will hate it too when you block them off and they have to traverse a round-about Quoridor.

Quoridor is a great family board game to pull out for a quick battle. Set up time is next to nothing, it’s easy to learn and it plays very quickly. But the best part is that it gets you to think.

Is it best to move your pawn or place a wall? And if so, where is the most advantageous place to play it?

As with most 1-on-1 board games, the level of strategy required depends on who you’re playing it with. The funny thing is when we are playing Quoridor with 4, it seems that Caleb always wins. And everyone has fun. Caleb loves it because he is the first across and the older kids love it because they spend time blocking dad and vice versa.

Can the whole family enjoy Quoridor?

Quoridor can be enjoyed by most people in your family. While it may not be suitable for the very youngest in your clan, the rest should enjoy it.

Quoridor board gameQuoridor is a great board game for learning critical thinking skills. While there are only a couple of choices to make each turn – move your pawn or place a wall – deciding when and where to do which is a thoughtful process.

It’s also a quick game to play for 2 players. But it also allows for up to 4 players. It’s a bit trickier when there are more players, but worth the effort.

The player count we’d suggest you stay away from however is 3. With 3 players, inevitably the 2 players that are heading to each other’s side of the board will have a tougher time getting through while the 3rd player skirts by unnoticed many times.
