Quarto – Funny name, Fun game
Quarto is a board game that doesn’t need a lot of instruction. In fact, when we first saw the game we wondered what we were missing because the only type of instructions we could see were so short that we thought we must be missing something.
So we just went with what we were given and it turned into a family board game hit. We love to pull Quarto out when we want a quick 2-player challenge.
- Quarto is simple to learn
- Quick to set up (there really isn’t any set-up other than putting the board on the table)
- Quick to play
- And quick to play again…
- and again, and again, and again
It usually turns out that there are others waiting in the wing for a chance to “play the winner”.
This review was a fun one because while explaining how to select which piece to give Caleb (or how to whittle down the options), Trevor overlooked a potential winning spot. And sure enough, Caleb jumped at the chance for the win. Surprise, surprise!
Can the whole family enjoy Quarto?
You bet.
Quarto is a great 2-player board game for anyone in the family. While the toddlers may not grasp the strategies in the game, it’s a great game for them to start learning.
As you can see in the video review, even younger players can beat their older siblings (or parents).
